Today we visited a small state park called Ioa Valley State Park. It has towering emerald peaks that guard the lush valley floor where the river runs through. This park is home to one of Maui's most recognizable landmarks, the 1,200-foot peak called the Ioa Needle. The Needle overlooks the Ioa stream and is very historic for the battles that have happened here. There is a hiking trail up to an observation point and we were able to video "Hangtime" with Lilly and show her what we were seeing. What fun - we also video chatted with Jess and caught up on Killian's activities. Thanks Josh for getting us on this app. We timed our visit just right, because as we were leaving, it started to rain. Because it was raining, we spent a quiet afternoon catching up on our sleep and getting used to the time difference.
