Hola Barcelona!
Raj: Having left Andorra today (and paying ~NZ70 for the privilege of 22 hours parking; getting stopped at the border to Spain - luckily with only a courtesy check as we didn't know what the allowance for alcohol was; and the selected GPS option picking a very long mountainess route and sometimes misguiding us) we arrived in Barcelona this afternoon (well, Mataro actually, on the coast on the outskirts of Barcelona). As usual Vikki drove the whole way and dealt brilliantly with things as they happened.
Once more we are in a camping ground but nothing like what you get in NZ. It's huge, with it's own large pool, playground, football court, animal farm, supermarket, restaurant, bar and yes, an ice-cream parlour. There are also lots of organised activities and tourist services. And we are opposite the sea with the main beach 2km down the road. Sweet.
Our accommodation is also pretty good. We have a cool wooden bungalow with good facilities again, but more space than we had in Les Eyzies. Our cottage enjoys the pleasant shade of white mulberries - just as well as the fine weather is set to continue for our entire stay. Yeah! The pool temperature is pretty nice and we enjoyed a few dips this afternoon once we settled in.
We have 4 full days ahead of us, and lots to do locally and in Barcelona. The car is pretty much parked up now and we'll bus or train into Barcelona. We've just purchased a 2-day hop-on/hop-off tourist bus ticket as this is the best and easiest way to get around the city and see the sights. Can't wait!
