Well what a week. We have got one of the local film industry stars (the state is called Karnataka) who is launching a film called "Accident" on April 12. All the proceeds from the Premiere is going towards funding our project, so on Thursday night we were invited to the "Audio Premiere." Yep, that's right. Just the audio. So I left the rainy village on my muddy scooter, and within an hour and a half, I found myself in the foyer of the 6-Star Le Meridiene Hotel, where beautiful hostesses graced the marble-clad entrance in elegant black saris. I think the villagers are used to seeing this random white guy leaving the village in a suit!!
A Professor was surprised the other day when I told him that I am still surprised by how this country operates. This audio launch was just about doing a bunch of speeches, then running through a few songs from this new film, which is expected to be a hit. We met the star. He sang a couple of numbers. We had a nice dinner. Then I went back to the village. Just another day in India!
Otherwise, I am coming back to Australia on April 1, so these last few weeks have been absolutely chaotic with sponsorship meetings with Australian companies working out of Bangalore, and also some Australian government officials.
If you have any ideas for any companies that may be interested in funding this exciting project, please email me at [email protected].
Happy Easter!
