Woke up, had breakfast and packed for the short flight back to Cape Town. We left some clothes behind for the owner to donate so we could travel light and then headed back to the Boardwalk. We browsed for a bit and then made a stop at the South End Museum on our way to the PE airport.
Port Elizabeth's South End was bulldozed in the '60s and people were segregated into neighbourhoods by race. It was shocking to see empty city blocks with only a church or mosque standing... nothing but rubble around it.
It was a typical small town museum, but there were some interesting things... especially the articles about rugby under apartheid. (The BBC has an interesting article about rugby in SA --> http://tiny.cc/jJKpk.)
We got to the Port Elizabeth airport ridiculously early - unlike pretty much every other airport in the world, it's actually in town - and waited around the gate for a long while.
Our flight to Cape Town was entirely uneventful and we arrived in Cape Town with no problems. We found our hotel in Simon's Town fairly easily (although we ended up taking the long way around to Simon's Town through the toll road) and then scouted the penguin beach after dinner.
