On Tuesday we visited South Africa. We landed in Johannesburg. On Wednesday Mrs Swart and Mrs Grobler came in to share the Aardklop Festival with us. At Aardklop lots of things happen, like wood carvings, oil paintings, handmade toys like tractors and cars, statues, wire sculptures, clothes, musical instruments, kitchen things and other beuatiful art works. We also did some drumming like we were in an African jungle. We also made some african masks, that are up in our classroom. We tasted Boerewors and Melkterts. We also learnt some words in African. Joac read us a story on African...he is so clever!
During the week we have been doing lots of art because we are at Aardklop. We did balloon painting and today we are going to do some beading and look at some other artworks from South Africa.
Next week we are going to Egypt...walk like an Egyptian!!! It will be lots of fun! We will update you from Egypt!
