On Monday we flew from South Africa to Egypt and landed in the capital city of Ciaro. We watched our journey on Google earth, the plane was really rough and fast. During the week we have done lots of activities about Egypt and it's festival called Sham el-Nessim. Sham el-Nessim means "The smell of spring" We have celebrated this festival in our class by sharing some yummy palace bread and lemonade that Mrs Craft made. The palace bread is really yummy with whipped cream on top. We have also made pyramids and had a virtual tour of the pyramids on the internet. Today we have experienced mummification and what happens to to mummies. We practiced mummification on a real life mummy in our class. Check out the photos. We also decorated eggs as this something that they do at Sham el-Nessim. Earlier in the week we looked at Hieroglyphics and seen what our names look like in Hieroglyphics. We have enjoyed Egypt and we are about to go into groups and make some more mummies. Next week we are going home to Australia! Catch you in Down Under Mate!
