Arrived in Surfers Paradise on 10th January and stayed here for 3 nights at Aquarius Backpackers. This was our first experience of a proper hostel and having to share rooms! It was fine apart from the room was so hot it felt like a sauna in there!! the hostel itself was about 15 minutes out of Surfers by car, we went in on our first full day. We went down to the beach but was starting to rain so didn't spend long there. Looked like it would be a nice beach in the sun!
The rest of the day we did bit of shopping and wandering round the centre of Surfers. In the evening we had a few drinks at the hostel and then went to a cool, cheesy club in Surfers with some people from the hostel.
Next day was bad weather again so only went out the hostel to get some breakfast! Had our first experience of cooking in a hostel that day too...we were very adventurous and had pasta and sauce from a packet! You wouldn't think we had both lived away from home at uni!!!!
Typically on the day we left it was sunny but didn't have time to go to beach as had to get bus to next sto Brisbane.
