Left our hotel and caught a took took into Trincomalee town to the bus station. Had to wait two and half hours to take the only air conditioned bus south to Sigarya. It's really hot and humid. There are many soldiers guarding the bus station and one was really mean to a stray puppy dog by putting his boot on the dog's neck then smiling.
The trip is less than 100 km but takes two and half hours as the road is very rough but worse was the very loud Indian music which played the whole time. Sounded like one long song. I tried to listen to my own music but I couldn't hear it at all. The last nine kilometers we had to take a took took from the main road. As we approach the village of Sigarya, there was an elephant walking along the road.
Sigarya is famous for the huge rock plateau with an old Buddhist monastery ruin on top. We saw this huge rock and it was stunning. Our hotel grounds have loads of monkeys running around.
The rock plateau looked amazing at sunset with a storm and lightning in the background.
