Hello from Kelowna- you may well ask where's that. Well it's on our way back to Vancouver to catch a boat or as Paul keeps reminding me a SHIP to take us to Alaska. We are in a beautiful B&B with a stunning view across a lake and vineyards and have just returned from dinner at a local winery.
Our 4 days in Banff were filled with exercise yet again. I read prior to leaving Adelaide that one should go up to the tea-house at Lake Louise. Checking with the front office staff at our hotel they said it was an EASY walk. Well, either, WE are very unfit, which of course I will deny, or they don't know what they are talking about.
It was a 3.4 km hike one way which I think was vertical… BUT we all made it. There were some absolutely beautiful views and it was worth it even if there were a few strained muscles.
We are excellent reviewers of the Fairmont Hotels which are all huge but our favourite is Japser. As for BEAR sightings even Paul felt sorry for me and has cancelled all betting. I am now pinning hopes on grizzly bears in Alaska… Today we saw a sign for a Grizzly Bear refuge but do you think we could find it. No such luck.
We have driven to Vancouver today and will board the ship tomorrow morning, so not sure when I will get to do the next blog. Go the Crows - it will be in the middle of the night here so will have to check results in the morning.

Rhonda You'll be doing the Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty to keep up the vertical walking when you get home! Pleased to see the backpack is still with you Bill, obviously you are the most responsible one to take care of it! I do hope you see a BEAR Jenny, surely they are not in hibernation just yet.
Lyndon Kelwona is a lovely place Our friend lives there and works in a winery. He used to be a teacher!! We stayed with him and had a great time there
