2 travelers in Africa
Friday; my last day at work, I was sitting at my desk viewing the athmosphere at the office. I felt sad that some of these people I might never see again. Unable to cry though, Laura tried her best to make the tears come by shooting rubberbands at me. When that didn't work she went on about how everyone would forget me on Monday already. That would have worked normally and I hated myself for acting like such a cold b****. Eventually, after going through all sad-ending-movies and still no tears, it was time for Laura to leave. I knew I would see her the day after, but still... I realised then that all it took for me to cry was a big, long hug. And I continued for the rest of the day... That b****; hugging too good!
I went around to say good bye to everyone and when I reached Kim, the classical moment happened when two women say "Don't cry. If you cry, then I cry". And that's exactly what happened. Tissues, tissues; then it was a bit better.
The time had come for me to leave. I took my stuff and the football I got as a gift from some colleagues I play football with every Thursday. They had all signed it and I loved it. I have to say that Thursdays were always the best day of the week, because of football. Even though I'm a girl, they always treated my like one of the blokes. And I mean, what woman doesn't want that?!
I checked out and biked home. And that was my last day at the office.
