To Kobenhavn Dänmark
Monday morning it was time to say farewell to Lidingo Island, a light mist as we walked to the local bus stop after a hearty breakfast at our quaint little accommodation, the Ariston Hotel. I had fond memories of the beautiful tulip gardens and greenery at the local village. A quick bus trip and we left the island arriving at Ropsten Station for the transfer to Stockholm Central to catch the train to Dänmark. Our carriage was comfortable and had a buffet carriage adjacent to ours, the Steward was chatty and offered us free second coffees which we took advantage of. The countryside is so green and vibrant, numerous farms, some paddocks were bright yellow growing Rapeseed (Canola) oil. The 5 hour trip went quickly we soon crossed over the Øresund into Dänmark and arrived in København Central which is very close to the border - no customs to be processed so we made our way to the main train concourse and purchased bus passes. Using local buses is more adventurous than tourist coaches, we traveled south to the Dan hostel Amager. We were in the middle of a grassland area and adjacent to a very uniquely designed double towered Marriott Hotel building joined at the top. An efficient check-in, tub of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans we walked the numerous walkways to our wing. Our room was at the end of the hallway, very well laid out, huge bathroom and very clean. We walked to the local supermarket and purchased fresh food. Chris cooked a tasty stir-fry, we were parched so we shared a bottle of French Wine. Our favorite berries and yoghurt in our room and relaxed.
I am thrilled to be traveling with my two best mates - sharing the RoChDa adventure.
