We left our free camp south of Carnavon on Thursday the 28th of May. First stop was Quobba Point. There isn't alot to see here except for blowholes. The blowholes here however are spectacular. The ocean was really rough and the water was crashing against the rocks shooting water atleast 30 meters high in the air through four or five holes in the rocks. We all got covered in water when a freak wave hit the blowholes. It was great and the kids really enjoyed the experience. From there we went to a free camp for the night around 100km south of Coral Bay. The next morning we headed into Coral Bay, arriving around 9am. The first stop was the nurses station to check Felicity's ears are we thought she might have an ear infection. It was a long two hour wait. After being given the all clear we headed to the main beach for some snorkeling. Coral Bay - Exmouth is famous for being part of the Ningaloo Marine Park. This park streaches along the coast nearly 300km. It hosts 500 species of tropical fish and 220 species of coral. It's amazing, you walk in just meters off the beach and you begin snorkeling over superb coral gardens and you see so much marine life it is incredible. Mackayla described the experience as "Epic". Felicity said it was "Cool". Charlie come out into the deep water with us but didn't snorkel, prefering to float around and watch all the activities instead. We spent quite some time here which was fantastic. Friends Mark & Suzzie told us about Coral Bay and we weren't disapointed. There are also amazing things to do here if price is no object. These include quadbiking, swimming with whale sharks, glass bottom boat tours and swimming with mantarays. From Coral Bay we headed through Exmouth and down then south down the coast side to a camp in the Cape Range National Park called Osprey Bay. This is a fantastic camp and probably the pick of all of them along this side of Exmouth. The only issue is you need to book online atleast 48 hours in advance to get in. And they are not that cheap for no frills camping. If you have a WA parks pass you don't have to pay entry to the National Park, otherwise it's $12.00 a day. Camping at any of these places (no power avaliable) is around $24.00 a night.
