Another bad night with James in pain from coughing meant another trip to the Dr this morning. This time he gave us a corse of antibiotics for a throat infection. He looked over Ed as well and he was all good.
We went into town and treated the kids to ice cream for morning tea, perfect for the sore throat. We looked around town for a bit then got some lunch to take back to the cabin so we could put Ed to sleep. Ed had a nap while James had a rest watching ABC kids. I took some time to write out a bit of a shopping list as it was time to get some more supplies for our 4 nights in Lawn Hill and Brad had a bit of a rest with the kids.
Even though James was sick he had been asking all morning if he could go for a swim in the pool at the caravan park. So when Ed woke up we put them in their swimmers and headed to the pool. The water was pretty cold so James didn't want to go in very far (which I was kind of hoping) but Ed didn't care and went nuts. He really loves the water and sometimes I think he thinks he can actually swim as he tries to launch himself out of my arms.
After the kids swim we headed back to town to do the shopping and get fuel, took it back to the cabin then raced up to the lookout to watch the sunset over the Mt Isa mine.
I am hopeful that the kids are on the mend today and we all get a bit of sleep tonight. Tomorrow it's of to Lawn Hill, the northern most point of our trip, for 4 nights. We will have limited phone service up there so it will be nice to 'switch off'.
