Woohoo!! We're back in the glorious sunshine again... It was bright sun, blue skies and a warm, warm day today, just what the doctor ordered. The caravan still smells musty, particularly after it's been closed up for the day, but we can live with that. It'll eventually dry out, then we'll sell it, and it won't be our problem any more...
Not wanting to miss a moment of the beautiful weather, we charged out the door nice and early, to the markets at Eumundi. Now normally, I'd be most unimpressed about a trip to the markets, they always have the same crappy, home made junk you don't need, and second hand rubbish and flotsam from other peoples garage sales... But Eumundi Markets are famous, and reputedly amongst the best in Australia, and I was looking forward to them. And they are... They're fantastic... No, really, I mean it! They're very excellent. The stalls are well organised and laid out. There's plenty of seats and shade, and the buskers and entertainment are first class. There's snack and food stalls from all over the world, and if you look hard enough, you're guaranteed to find something you can't go past without trying. But it's the art and craft stalls that really make these markets great. It's new and different stuff that you don't see at every saturday morning market right up and down the coast. It's imaginitive and creative, and really good quality... Which means it's pricey too, but I'd rather pay top dollar for something different and unique than get a great bargain on another piece of crap that's the same as everyone else has... We actually walked around all the stalls, and it took us over 2 hours to get right through them. That might not seem real long to some of you more professional market stalkers, but we're normally in and out in about 15 minutes, so 2 hours is quite an achievement. We still left without buying anything, but we did pick up a couple of business cards from a few of the stall holders, just in case...
After the markets, we were feeling back in the touristy frame of mind we're used to, so we headed over to a little place called the Bellingham Maze. This is a large maze made from hedges and bushes, and you've got to find your way to a fountain in the middle, and then back out again, but find Snow White and all seven of her dwarves along the way. It was actually quite difficult, and we failed to locate all the dwarves, and although we saw Snow White through the hedge, we couldn't get to her. The boys took off on their own, racing ahead as though they knew their way around, and it wasn't long before we had no idea where they were. We were lost within the hour. I know the trick with mazes, by keeping either your left or right hand on one of the walls, and following it all the way, you're guaranteed to find your way right through the maze to the exit. But, that doesn't help you get to the middle. We made our way through the maze and found the exit numerous times, but we couldn't find the fountain in the middle... Until we found Jeremy... He took us straight to it. Smart arse little b*****... Just like that... And back out again. Like he had a road map or something. Said he'd been waiting for us there for ages, but got sick of waiting, so came looking for us instead... I'm not sure what that means... I don't think I want to know... Anyway, they have a couple of other puzzles and challenges there as well, which are fun, as well as mini golf (which we didn't do), and all in all, it's a nice way to spend some quiet time together as a family. Nothing exciting or adventurous, just some good old fashioned fun.
On our way back home, we stopped at Aussie World and the Ettamogah Pub for some lunch and a look around. Aussie World is an old fashioned theme park with rides and sideshow attractions and dodgem cars etc, but because it was too late to really get our money's worth, we decided not to go in. We had lunch at the Ettamogah Pub, and a quick look through the little village around it, and then headed back for home. The boys had a swim in the pool while we did some more washing and drying (from the big wet), and we decided to cook German Bratwurst on the BBQ (from the markets) for dinner. An early night to bed tonight, from all the day's excitement, before another big day at Australia Zoo tomorrow...
Woohoo!! More sunshine...

Ginny Glad to see you finally got some good weather and sounds like you will get the same tomorrow too, very good. Eumundi markets are great aren't they? We did them about 9 years ago and even Tony was impressed. We're a bit like you, we don't much like the market scene. We did Australia Zoo too and were very lucky to have Steve filming a segment for the USA. Was quite cool. Everything is good here, actually it's better if you get what I mean. Jackie is in for big night tonight. Rylee was supposed to have her birthday party at Salamander Tavern but the Tavern cancelled it as they were concerned that there would be under agers so now Jack is doing something for her at home. Hope she and the house survive. Just a little taste of what Tony is up to. Vans have been taken off sites 33 and 68 as well as the concrete and he has started making 33 a tent site and 34 is finished. It looks really good having the place open up a bit. That's all you get for now you will just have to wait until you get home to see the rest. So once again, have fun, stay safe and hugs to all. Love T&G
Ginny PS. I forgot to tell you it was my turn (Gin) at punters club today and I won $109.00. I had $5 each way bets on 5 horses and got 2 wins and 2 thirds. Now I have to try and do it again next week. Greg has won the most at the moment but Tony is not far behind. We are still running at a loss in the how much we have invested compared to the amount we have won but we still have the rest fo the year to make that up. You guys don't have to worry about your bets as you are 4 people after me before Jo and then Pete's turn. I was quite chuffed and did a little dance in the office this arvo. Will let you know how I go next week. Love Gin
