Arrived at Amsterdam on thalys train. Huge station and lovely hot weather. The station itself is an amazing view so worth a good few photos. I stayed in the hotel Kap (2 star hotel). Walked there from the station and the cobbled streets killed my trolley holdall wheels halfway so dragged it rest of the way. Hotel had no life and I was booked for fourth floor room with skylight. Lots of stairs so knackered as I got to the top.
Anyway. After chilling out decided to go for a stroll. Crossed the river towards the Heineken museum. Didn't go in but had good offers there. Walked along river side nearly getting run over by the endless cyclists that come out of every direction possible. Headed to the art museums and the van Gogh museum. Never really been into art but curiosity got the better of me. Well worth the visit and plenty to see and find out about one of there famous artists.
Came outside and saw the I Amsterdam red and white sign so obviously took photos. Crossed river and headed to the stadsschouwburg precinct that was full of clubs and restaurants. Treated myself to lobster which I never had before. Today was also the day Netherlands were playing world cup so lots of supporters and entertainment around.
Took a leisurely stroll along a canal to find the Anne Frank museum as am visiting there the day after. As it was getting late decided to walk around for a while and see what's around then headed back to hotel.
