Eventually managed to get myself and the bike onto the ferry to Vladivostok. It was all pretty crazy, this ferry seems to mainly take secondhand Japanese cars across to Vladivostok to sell. Therefore the passengers are mostly used car salesman...people a few of us are familiar with. They, in the true tradition of used car salesman, spent most of the trip drunk.

Shared a cabin with a Japanese fella who worked in Vlad and met another Aussie on his way around the world (good luck Andrew!). Worth noting that he got hammered the first night on the boat and lost his thongs, which saved me having to be the token drunk Aussie for a change....
