Started day 3 a little earlier, left 0820 for the school got there at 9am, it as a lovely warm welcome, they showed us a dance practice they had learned yesterday, all very talented children, then went to see the choir who gave us a very traditional song performance. They have won regional competitions in the past, very good! Then went to an art class where we were shown children decorating cards to give to the teachers. How does this relate to engineering? It doesn't the man who was supposed to be doing Will's and I internship again was ill! So after the show around lessons we had tea, cake and nann bread in the headmistress's office, she talked more about the school, the education etc., all very interesting and her English was very good. Then we got shown to the 'kindergarden/pre-school' classes they were all so tiny and smart! They start learning English from year 1, i.e. about 5/6 yrs old. Walked back to the office and I wrote a little bit about the school, then updated my blog and left at 1245. Came back to the hotel, asked Nidhi if she wanted to meet up and she was free! So I met her at a bus station (went in a tuk tuk myself!!!) Then walked to Shiniji Market, where she bought shoes and present for a friend's wedding. Then we both hopped on the bus to get to her accommodation, went up 3 floors, past sleeping dogs and up to her flat. It was tiny!! 6 girls sleep in this one tiny glat, but her flat mates were so lovely. We played ludo and snakes and ladders on their bed, took lots of photos, and then had to head back in the tuk tuk, thought I had left my camera at hers, but I hadn't small panic!! Got back showered (Again_ and then went to the Dr Alex Watson talk in the basement was really interesting, had dinner, and then walked to M-block for some chocolate, then chilled in bed, because everyone is ill! Louise isn't feeling too good at the moment either, think it's the salad from the British Council.
Craving a Sandwich right now though!
Also when we went to the school the children touched and kissed our feet for a sign of good luck!
