The alarm rings loudly at the dreaded time of 5.45. We then sluggishly get ready, head to 7/11 (the only place In Tao open for food at this time, wonderful) for breakfast before heading to the dive shop. Again, we make our way to the longboat, and then to the main boat, before sailing out to our first dive site: Twins.
Geared up and completed our buddy checks, we jump into the water ready for dive #3! After some trouble with my mask, water escaping inside, we finally managed to get down to 16m deep. Here, we skipped the skills and had a 'fun dive'. We swam through the fish and coral, spotting queen fish, clown fish (Nemo!) and angel fish. At one point, we swam through an archway of coral. It was amazing.
Our second dive was equally as spectacular, spotting groupers, fusiliers and more angel fish, amongst many others. We performed a few skills such as full mask removal and replace, and navigation. The latter consisted of Will being given a heading, and using the compass to find it, we both headed in the direction, whilst I counted fin (aka flippers) strokes.
It was absolutely amazing, fantastic and beautiful. We surfaced, and we're now officially open water divers. Yay!
Back on solid ground, Will headed for a nap. So, I thought this a fitting excuse for a mani-pedi and shopping! We then grabbed a few drinks, and watched our photos and videos of our dive. Some shots were great, most of them I look drunk (I wasn't!). But overall, a good purchase.
We then headed down Sairee beach to watch our dive instructors band, along with other divers. Many a tequila was shot, and many memories of the night gone with it!
