Day Thirty
Yesterday when were in the lift, some guy looked at me as though he knew me - you know the look. I thought he seemed familiar also as he looked like a former boss of mine from years ago. I didn't think it would be him 'cos why would he be here in SF. We saw him again at breakfast, so I went up to him to make sure. Sure enough, it was. He thought the same when he saw me in the lift. It's a very small world.
Today, was just a relaxing day and the temperature is a nice 20C. We're staying in Fisherman's Wharf and it's a good place to walk around to see the sights or just sit and watch the boats and ferries cruise around the bay. We caught the F-line tram to the city to have a look around and do some final shopping. It's a quick trip which only costs $2.25 and the ticket lasts 3 hours. We didn't stay long and caught the tram back to Pier 39 to buy some t-shirts etc.
SF has a lot of homeless people and crazies on the streets. They generally leave you alone (not like Vancouver) and usually just sit there with a sign begging for money. We'd seen a crazy lady earlier in the day strutting around like a female Mick Jagger. She's noisy but harmless. She was sitting with some of her fellow crazies pretending to dance. As we passed by she hoists up the bra and let's nature do the rest. It was like a car accident. You didn't walk to look, but you couldn't help not to. For the record, they were huge. It was one time when I was glad I didn't have my camera with me.
That incident required something settling so we headed to Boudin's Bakery (famous for its sour-dough bread) to have a beer (Blue Moon, of course).
It's the last night of our holiday (we don't count sitting in LAX until 11.30pm for our flight home) so we treated ourselves to a nice seafood dinner at Boudin's. Mission accomplished-a very nice meal!
On the way back, we saw the crazy lady again but at least she had her top on this time.
