We woke up to our last morning in our hut and made our way to the bus stop to get our bus back to Chiang Mai. This time, our bus was less manic and no one threw up into their ponchos. We arrived back in the bus station and negotiated a tuktuk to our new hostel.
The dorms, although mixed, were decent and had easy steps up to the top bunk as well as curtains for privacy. The girls and I decided to go out and find a pedicure so walked back through the city walls to the area we knew before and found a good parlour that offered massages and foot scrubs as well. Knowing full well our paint would come off within the day, I agreed to a manicure just for some down time and enjoyed having my cuticles redone. After seeing a guy have a foot scrub, I then asked the girls if we should have one too. This couldn't come soon enough for Charlotte who required a knife like object to cut the dry skin from her feet - it came off in chunks! Gemma and I required only a gentle buffer!
After our relaxing time in the parlour, the walking market had fully kicked off and me and the girls meandered our way down. Somehow we located the guys who joined us on our shopping spree up and down the streets - we felt like we needed another foot scrub by the end of the evening. For dinner we had yet another street food session and I had a spring roll, followed quickly by another one when I realised it was so yummy, followed by a Nutella crepe and then of Gemma's half eaten sweet corn cob...and some of her waffle. Sadly by then I was too full for mango and coconut rice.
We then walked back to the hostel and had a relaxing evening in the dorm before being picked up for our first leg of our Chiang Khong excursion the next day.
