Today is the 47th Independence Day for Uganda!
We have come into Kampala on our own for the first time and so far so good, phew!
We've only been at school 3days this week, as Monday was Teachers Day and today being Independence :)
Wen't to the market on Monday for our weekly shop and bought:
Charcoal, 2kg Rice, Bread, 2 onion, 2 carrot, 2 tomato, 2 donut - 8,400 sh/ around 2.50pound :)
We've been wanting to do some more after school, as we've been doing our daily chores and just been sat around. We are going to an Orphanage to see if we can help out at weekends and Vic is looking at joining a local choir in the evenings :) I'm currently helping build a house! Seriously :) I just went down on Wednesday and asked if I could help and next thing I'm mixing cement. Vic said I was so red when she walked past to go to to the Bore Hole :) I had so much fun with them, all laughing away. Did about an hour and half (that was enough!) and Tonny gave me 2,000 sh/ I protested but he said to go buy soap for my hands or a Fanta :) I ached so much on Thursday but was very pleased with my 65p wage :D Going back on Monday. Even if I don't do alot, it's very interesting to see how they build houses in Uganda (it looked so unstable!)
Also, I'm gardening at school Monday and Friday mornings before my lessons start. Digging up old soil, turning it and planting tree cuttings etc. Hopefully get it looking lovely before I leave :) It's all go,go,go! :)
Meeting Caitlin and Rosie for lunch and then they're staying at ours. See everyone at the compound and party in Bulenga ;)
Going to Isobels and James (Country Host house) going to be great to see everyone! :D
So speak soon. Lots of Love x x x
