After morning walk along the canal with wildflowers.
On to Neeltje Jans - site of major engineering feat to place gates across to protect the dikes from excessive high tides after last one in the 1950's drowned 1800 people. Construction started in the "50's and finished 30 years later.
This is also the site of the finish line for the second stage of this year's Tour de France - I can now feel for the riders, they will have very strong winds off the North Sea. I will be cycling backwards.
Spent the day at the park like area with exhibits and boat ride out to the lake - very cold and windy.
Had lunch - croquets and apple tart - Mariska waited all her life for this.
Dinner in Greek restaurant - whole menu was literally Dutch to me.
Catching up the jet lag
