Today is our last chance to pick up some fresh produce at Bačka Palanka.
We purchased the goodies needed to keep Cvita going for a while, then headed off to find a large enamelled roasting pot to take home. Everything is so cheap here that we couldn't resist to buy some bits & pieces for ourselves. Thank goodness we packed lightly when we left home.
We arrived home a bit late for lunch & then had to wait for the pizzas to be cooked as Cvita was waiting for us to arrive with the fresh mushrooms.
In the afternoon we were busy preparing for tonight's meal that was cooked on two separate talandaras - these are like a wok but much shallower & they sit on 3 legs about 30cm of the ground. A fire is lit underneath the talandara & as soon as the plate gets hot the cooking begins.
One plate was used to cook the meat, the other to cook vegies in a homemade tomato sugo sauce.
Dinner was amazing - tasty & filing & most of all traditional in the way it was cooked.
