The similarities are so obvious! I appreciate the tradition of their religion as it unites the people past and present. Is it the religion or the customs of the past that ensures the young continue with the religious pilgrimages? It appears the youth everywhere are seeking to find themselves for ours it is Gallipoli and the Kakoda trail in Europe the religious past. WOW how i wish I could understand my heritage and live it as you have!! John may come back a CATHOLIC on higher ground?!?!

Bambi stew....................No political correctness in Croatia?!?!
It all sounds amazing just living with the locals and experiencing life in the village etc etc It is a contrast to read that some have little yet others can holiday on the beach and have a pool etc. Photos of family needed for this old bird to follow the story! You are entertaining in your story telling! More photos of food needed too! Enjoy!
Sharon.
Finally got onto your blog and have done a bit of reading about your travels. It sounds like a lot of drinking and eating is going on over there! It is lovely that you can enjoy the hospitality of your family Chris.

Hi Chris and John, I have enjoyed your all descriptions but am amazed at your insight into Slovenia as I had no previous knowledge. The caves and scenery sound and look spectacular! I can feel the warm salt baths and the stickiness of the heat, sweat etc. I need to hear lots more about the food etc once you return! Travel safely !
