This morning when I looked out the window I saw a man escorting his cows down the main street of town. They were heading out to pasture for the day.
After breakfast we walked into town (Ehrwald) to check out the town and what it has to offer. We spotted many apartments, guest houses and restaurants, dropped into the supermarket for some supplies & packed the esky for our day out.
We headed off to Fussen to find the castle that Walt Disney copied & is screened at the start of all of his productions. This castle 'Neuschwanstein Schloss' was massive and sat high up on a mountain (to which we walked). His other castle 'Schloss Hohenschwagau' was a short 20 minute walk away - so we visited this one as well.
On our way back to Ehrwald we stopped off at a massive suspension bridge which spanned the valley near a dilapidated old castle (built in 1290). This bridge was 406m long and sat high up above the valley. We walked up to the top of the hill and huffed & puffed all the way up.
It was bitterly cold when we crossed & the bridge shook and swayed the whole time. The biggest problem was when you got across the bridge you had to cross it again to get back to castle and later the car.
Finally home we visited the neighbours to check out their newly born calf (we look out over their stalls) before having an early dinner and relaxing before hitting the sack.
