Our taxi to the airport was picking us up at 6am this morning but I made the stupid decision to take a laxative before bed last night, I was still on the toilet when it arrived! Chris thought it was funny but it was bloody embarrassing, especially when the hotel manager and the driver were sitting on the other side of the bathroom window! We finally left at half past and the drive only took twenty minutes. We checked in then waited to board our flight to Bali via Sydney. Everything was going fine and we even got given the exit seats so had extra leg room. We watched a film, ate our snack boxes, got free beers, coffee and cookies, it was a nice flight to Sydney. Chris liked his head pillow on the plane so much that he stole it! Tut, little pikey!
Once we got to Sydney we had to wait for a couple of hours before we could check in for our flight to Bali. So we sat down for some lunch and waited. When we were finally able to check in we had to show the proof of a booked departure flight out of Bali. It took Chris ages to find it on the Internet when I said he should have just got the tickets out of his bag! He kept refusing though, staying they were packed at the bottom! I think he was just being really stubborn!
When he finally got them out the lady behind the checkout told us the flight would be delayed by three hours!!! We were fed up of waiting by then but we weren't surprised, the flight was with s***ty Jet Star, they're always delayed! The only good thing about being stuck at Sydney airport is that the wifi was free so we got to upload some blogs and catch up with some friends. By 7:20pm we were finally boarding the plane only to be told that the flight wouldn't take off straight away, we had to wait another whole bloody hour! It wasn't only that, the flight seemed to be full of retards! A really drunk old aussie guy lingered at the toilets and kept hitting on girls, including myself before being moved seats, we later saw him arguing with the cabin crew. The guy behind us acted like a four year old shouting stuff out and making weird noises, he wore sunglasses and kept nodding at people and walking up and down the isle like he was someone important. We thought he might have been on something or drunk until a drama happened at the back of the plane. I looked down the isle and saw a man laying on the floor! The cabin crew called for anyone with medical experience and to our surprise the guy behind got up! We thought he was joking when he said he was a doctor but then he acted all serious when he came back. Apparently the man was elderly and just felt faint but was ok.
The lights went out after we ate our meals and everyone started to go to sleep, except for two girls in front of us who sat up chatting away. They seemed a bit retarded too, I had to ask them to shut up in the end. Finally we landed after six hours at 12:20am, Bali time. We paid 25 usd for our visas each, got some money out, then qued to collect the visas. It took ages because one guy in front of us was collecting twenty five visas! A Chinese tour group of course.
It was really early in the morning and all we wanted to do was get into a hotel and go to sleep. We had to get a taxi to Kuta first and luckily we had already been told on the flight how much a taxi should cost. The first guy we asked wanted 200,000! Chris literally told the guy to f*** off! The next guy agreed the right fare of 50,000 but even he started at 100,000.
We got dropped in Kuta and asked in a few hotels for a room, they all seemed to be expensive but we got lucky with one at the quieter end of the road called the Maha Bharata Hotel. We booked a private room with breakfast, the room wasn't anything special but it was 2am and we were shattered so wouldn't of cared if we had a mat on the floor at that point. We dumped our stuff down and put some music on and finally went to sleep.
