Chris wasn't happy this morning, we were sitting having our breakfast when suddenly I heard him swear under his breath. I asked him what's the matter and he pointed outside to his left. I turned and looked, I could see our laundry being hung out to dry which meant it had been washed this morning! Chris was pissed off, it was raining so had no chance of drying before we left the resort. We left our food and walked over to it, just as we thought it was soaking wet. I smelled it and it didn't even smell fresh, I could still smell a hint of BO in the armpits of one of my t shirts, they must have rinsed it with water only! Chris said he wasn't going to pay for it if it hadn't dried by the time we were leaving, I didn't think we should pay for it because it still stunk!
We went and sat back down and finished our tea then went back to our room to pack our bags, at 9:30am we dropped them in reception. Chris asked Peter about the washing and he said he had told the staff to do it yesterday. Chris said it wasn't good enough and it won't dry. Then Peter had the cheek to say it usually takes more than one day anyway! That pissed Chris off even more, he should never have taken it knowing we were leaving today! Peter didn't apologise once but said he would get someone to ring it out and put it into a plastic bag for us. Chris refused to pay for it as we will have to wash it again at the next place and it will probably smell after being in the bag for a few hours! We settled our bill and Peter didn't charge us for the washing.
When Steve and Emma settled their bill after us they told us their bar tab came to $300! Our tab only came to $30 but that was because we brought our own rum and coke.
It was boring waiting around for the boat to take us to our next resort, the weather was still crappy, we hoped it wasn't going to be like this for long, we had seen more rain in the last few days than we had in our whole trip! Just before it came we were asked to sit and watch the staff perform their good bye song. They were vey good, it was funny when one of their mobile phones went off, it sounded like porn in the background! We said good bye, grabbed our bags and climbed onto the small transfer boat that took us over to the Awesome Adventure boat. It left at 11pm so we were missing lunch, Peter offerd us lunch but he said we would have had to pay for it! We didn't want to waste $12 on a crappy meal when we can get more from a sandwich on the boat!
I was starving so as soon as we got on board I wanted to get a sandwich, Chris moaned that he wanted to sit down first. Good job I made him though because there were only two left and Steve and Emma had one of them. We also bought some more coke bottles, three each for our rum.
We sat up stairs on top deck as the sun had decided to come out for us, we started laughing when we saw some crazy lady dancing to her iPod at the front of the deck, she was great entertainment! We spoke about more s*** and other random stuff, then it started to rain again so we hurried back inside. We found seats and listened to Whitney Houston's greatest hits on the tv.
A couple of hours passed and we arrived at our destination, Barefoot Resort. The resort looked so nice, three beaches!!! Sunrise, Sunset and Manta Ray Beach! So I could sunbathe at any time of day as long as it was actually sunny! There beaches were surrounded by coral and the manta rays swim through during high tide, we can't wait to swim with them!
A lady named Joey gave us a tour around the resort after checking in. Then we sat and had a cup of tea before going to our private bure (bure means private hut or room). It was set on sunrise beach and situated at the very end. We seem to have the best bure with our own sun deck and hammock outside. We have wooden flap windows and a mozzie net over the bed. Suddenly the sun started to come out again, there was hope! We chilled out on the hammock then started to wash our smelly clothes our selves! The resort wanted $3 per item! We thought this was a bit of a rip off especially if they wash it like the last place did! We wanted to use our own laundry liquid so I had an idea to use the wash bowl for our feet. Chris gave it a good clean before he filled it with soapy water. It was a good job we brought the laundry liquid with us from New Zealand.
A girl in the bure next to us came over and asked us how we were washing our clothes. We showed her and then she said she washed hers in the shower with her. Quite a good idea really, so we will start doing that too. Then she told us a little about her travels and her friend. Her name was Chin Chin and she was from Malaysia so she recommended a few places to us. She seemed really friendly and a little crazy too.
We finished most of our clothes and hung them on our hammock to dry. Then we soaked a new load which we left over night, that was the smelliest stuff. Chris went for a shower then we went for dinner at 7pm. We were tired and couldn't be bothered to make an effort tonight. We sat down with Chin Chin and her friend and were served our food straight away, it was really nice, much nicer than Safe Landing food! They even served us cake!
The entertainment was crab racing, we got to pick one each and name it. I changed the name of mine three times, finally deciding on Forest. Chris named his Sebastian from Little Mermaid. Josef was also staying at Barefoot, he named his crab some finnish word that meant confidence and power or something like that. The race began, all the crabs were tipped out of a bucket and into the middle of a large chalk ring. We were all shouting and whistling for our crabs, it was hilarious, Josef's crab didn't even come out of his shell, so much for courange and confidence! There were three rounds, his crab was the only one to stay in the very middle and not come out of his shell!
We didn't want to stay up tonight so we went straight off to bed after the race had finished. I used our mozzie racket and killed everything and anything that flew then we climbed into our mozzie fort. As soon as we were settled we heard Chin Chin and her friend start screaming from their bure next door! Chris was going to see if they were alright but decided he couldn't be bothered. They were giggling for the next hour and eventually quietened down.
