SO. Another great week!
Sunday began my studying from a VERY large manual to complete my Advanced Divers Course the following week. My first day off and it was spent studying!!! No it wasn't so bad; I lay on the beach a bit, swam a lot and then sat at the restaurant deck; overlooking the sea. :D I discovered I'd been studying the wrong chapters (NOT my fault I'd like to add!) so had to spend the evening madly studying too! I also took a walk round to the other beach with the intention of sunset photos but ended up in the wrong place and so just took some beach sots instead. It appeared this beach I walked onto was also 'Local Lovers Beach'..oh ye-it was Valentine's Day! :S
Anyway Monday I completed two of my five 'adventure dives' for my course-my deep dive (getting to over 30m!!! :o) and my navigation dive (note to self-learn how to count to ten! :S).
But all in all really good dives-amazing, amazing seeing all that life and just-wow! My ears were actually ok surprisingly so that was good. Just hung out with Lisa (friend from the bus up-doing her Open Water course there) at the dive centre in between dives which was cool.
Didn't get much work done but ye..lots of diving!
Had Andrea's talk on Manta Rays which was awesome-learnt so much and it was just incredible all the knowledge she has and these creatures are just amazing! I mean she discovered a new species of Manta for goodness sake-how amazing is that?!
Tuesday I just did one dive in the morning which I did my buoyancy skills (I SUCK at buoyancy!!) and ye again, visibility wasn't wonderful but still ok and had a pretty good dive!
After that back to the office and actually MUST get some work done! :S
So went to Yoga in the evening with Lisa which was awesome! At a place called Turtle Cove which is super chilled and we ate there too which was good..
Wednesday I just studied in the morning and then did an Ocean Safari but unfortunately didn't see any Whale Sharks..Got back and went straight to the dive; not great visibility and VERY cold but still good! The camera died within 10 minutes and so the next day should do another one hopefully...
Met the new volunteer who just arrived-Dan-he seems cool; doing his masters and here for 6 months! Another dude arriving shortly too…
Went to dinner at a really nice restaurant with Lisa but had a very bad incident with what was meant to be vegetarian and clearly wasn't…
I felt-and was-physically sick..Id only had a few mouthfuls but ye…not fun… :S
But did have an amazing waffle with chocolate sauce and ice-cream which was nice… :S
Thursday was another office morning and then a dive in the afternoon which should be good! It was also raining which is crazy!! :o I had a really good dive doing photography and saw some pretty cool stuff! It was both Chris and Lisa's last night so we all ended up going out…Got the most AMAZING FRESH fruit juice IN a coconut which was awesome! :D
Went to bed quite late on Thursday… :S And had a dive first thing in the morning on Friday… But was all good! Still got up early to study and then off I went; last dive as a mere Open Water-er! I am now officially an Advanced Open Water Diver!! :D Yay!!
Went to the closest town Inhambane in the afternoon to sort some stuff and pick up some supplies from an actual town.. lol It was good and me and Dan (the new Masters student volunteer) had THE most amazing lunch! :D We got the 'chappa' back and it was just hilarious!! The typical African minibus; 'how many people could we possibly squish in here?!…and then add some more!' And the roads are..interesting..to say the least!! Very pot-hole-filled and crazy!!
Anyway, tonight was meant to be my 'quiet night in-EARLY night' and of course it sounds like there may be a party happening-one of the dive instructors 21st… Now I have to go!! :S Hmm dilemma!
And luckily ended up not going out! So got my journal up to scratch, read my amazing 4th Twilight book! <3 And went to sleep!
I still managed to wake up for the sunrise on Saturday morning and it was really great!
Went back to bed and read my book for half an hour before getting up properly too which was nice..
Had a good breakfast and then the day began…
Haven't done much today..sorting out some of my St Lucia photos on the laptop actually.
But what I did do was go on an Ocean Safari!! And we saw like over THIRTY Whale Sharks and a few Mantas too!! It was absolutely incredible! I was marking on the GPS where we were seeing them so Chris can analyze this at a later date but ye-awesome! And they were all feeding so quite oblivious to us all snorkeling around them! Also saw some Dolphins but didn't get to swim with them…next time!
Got back to the office and just more photo sorting…But kept falling asleep so went and lay on my bed and ended up falling asleep for like 45 minutes-was so tired!
Tonight is that party we thought was last night which means it's going to be a late one…Even though I just feel like reading my book and going to bed early again..that was nice.
Anyway, I think I'm going to walk into town and buy some food as feeling a bit peckish… :S
So…the party was intense! Na it was really good! All the dive lot were there and me an Dan headed over a bit later. Went to Fatimas (backpackers place) and then Dinos (which is the other main bar place) and I didn't even realize they had a dance floor there! So that was fun. ☺ Had a good night.
Sunday I woke up at some crazy hour-like 11.30; I don't remember the last time I woke up that late!! But it was my total chill day so it was ok… Basically chillaxed on the beach (but it was raining so ended up in my room too) and read my book-I'm reading the 4th Twilight!! Ah it's so good!! :D
So a calm day and tomorrow begins another week-I'm halfway through already! :S
Cheers my lovelies and I will speak soon! ☺

sue Wow,wow, amazing stuff-can't wait to see photos-congratulations on passing advanced open water-especially considering problems. miss you, love xxx
Daryl Hi Casey congrats on your Open Water Advanced. It is an awesome sport, isn't it? We had some of our best dives there and just further north at Morrungula. You need to find the bakery there in the bush. It makes the best pow (bread). Watch that sun. It burns like crazy! Any chance you can get to Pemba? If so, it is apparently worth it. We have not been but understand it is good. Lots of love Daryl and Eddie
Esther Hi roommate!! What a great story about the 30 whale sharks! I'm really jealous :). And congratulations with your advanced! It gives you much more dive opportunities. I am back in rainy cold Holland. My 2,5week of traveling in south africa were great! Tomorrow back to work, but looking foreward starting at the new company! Good to know you are all right and let's keep in contact! x Esther
