Day 3 Luang Prabang.
Staying at the Villa Chitdara.
Another day, another country. Today we moved onto Laos, Luang Prabang.
We had an early morning pick up for transfer to Hanoi airport. Our flight was on time and in an hour we had arrived in Laos, which a mere 6 degrees warmer at 32 degrees (Apparently on the cool side). Our visa on arrival took a fraction of the time that Vietnam took, helped by us filling in the form in advance allowing us to jump the queue and the fact that Laos has 3 staff knowing what they are doing whereas in Vietnam there were 3 managers, who knew nothing about what they were managing, to every one worker.
Checked in and chilled before going for a walk across the Nam Khan river, via a rickety bamboo bridge, to a riverside cafe for a beer lao and lemonade (guess who had what). We liked the look of the menu so we booked for a meal at 7pm.
The meal was great - Julie had fish (type unknown) steamed in banana leaves with rice and stir fry veg. I had stir fry chicken with rice and veg. All delicious. Then it was a quick tour round the night market before retiring (to follow the reds on tinternet).
Early start tomorrow - 5.30 rise to see Buddhist monk procession
take care all.
Andy & Julie xx
