Yellowstone National Park is located about 50 miles from the town of Jackson Hole Wyoming. Yellowstone was the first national park in the world, it was made a national park in the 1970's, its also the largest park in America. Yellowstone was amazing. We headed to the west side first which is mainly made up of volcanic sites such as geysers, mud pools, and boiling hot springs. We spent most of our time hiking around the most famous site in Yellowstone which is called Old Faithful .Old Faithful is a geyser which erupts like clock work, basically at the same time each day and always on time. Its pressure build up makes water spout extremely high into the sky, maybe about 50 metres high or more. So we sat around eating lunch watchign it erupt, it lasted about 5 mins. Then we hiked to a lot of clear hot springs which show amazing colours like real deep aquas and reds and oranges. its hard to explain what these are, so when i put photos up you will get a better idea!
Yellowstone is also home to hundreds of different species of wildlife...we saw sooooo much including deer, bald eagles, squirrel, chipmunk, buffalo, elk, MOOSE!!! and luckily enough for us...we saw a GRIZZLY BEAR! they are heaps rare to see and we saw one!! woohooo. it was awesome and in case u dont believe us we have photos and video of it! wooo!
The next day we went to the east to another famous view point called Artist Point which is an amazing waterfall that falls into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. we did a hike here too and saw some amazing scenery of canyons.
Anyway, that is all for now.
Take it easy
