The Tomb of Ho Chi Minh and the Presidential Palace
Today, I got up really early to beat the queue and the rush to go and visit the tomb of Ho Chi Minh. Luckily I got there in good time, although I had problems getting through security. You are not allowed to take pictures in the tomb and have to give your camera to security. Initially as you can imagine I did not want to give it up, but I did and got it back on the otherside of the tomb.
It was so crazy seeing him lying there in his resting place.
I walked around the Presidential Palace after, taking photo's. So happy to have my camera back in one piece, you never know when you are away what might happen. The Presidential palace was a really cool place to visit, so I am glad that I went. I was actually the only one in my group that showed up at the lobby this morning. The others were out drinking until the early hours, whilst I have behaved myself throughout and only had the one casual drink and headed back to my hotel room.
After the palace, I hit the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the tomb, palace and museum are located in the same area, so they are pretty easy to get to.
It's only midday, and I have managed to squeeze in all these bits already. I am off to the water-puppet show this evening by Hoan Kiem Lake, so it should be a good one.
