World Tour 06
Konichiwa!!! (thats hello to you and me)
Its only 4pm here and we have had a jampacked day already!!
Theres a camp american guy thats working at our hotel who has taken a liking to Sam and Ali who jumped out on us this morning to ask how were doing. Nice guy but a bit too friendly!!
We head out the hotel and started off with our obligatory Dennys English Breakfast and a hot cup of joe to kick start the day. the idea of sushi for breakfast just isnt sitting well with my stomach, but everyone is well in that respect so far!!
Today is a Japanese festival of good fortune or something or rather so we decided to go check it out.
The festival is being held very near to our hotel so we walked up through the local market and had a look at all the souviners and local delicacies. At the end of the market is the temple of fortune and a few shrines surrounding the perimeter of the grounds, some fantastic photo oppurtunities as you will see we have been trigger happy with the camera today and got some awesome photos, very cultural!
Some funny characters, the seven gods of the Japanese religion walked out on stage and performed some sort of show, dancing like they got piles. the tradition of this festival is to throw beans, sounds wierd but these beans are suppose to represent bad fortune. Hundreds of locals gathered round and said prayers, was a very interesting morning!!
We then went across town to the Asahi beer tower in search of a refreshing pint but to no avail!! got some amazing pics of the building (the one with the gold "wheat" head on top of it)
Decided to rest our legs in Starbucks with a frappucino and a chat with two Japanese girls asking us about tourist services!
So far so good, money situation is fine with no real expenses so far. still finding the timezone a pain, having to take afternoon naps to make it through the day!! but were not wasting our time, we have done and seen alot already!
Off to shibuya tonight, the modern lively area of Tokyo, hoping to find some bars and cheap beer, the lads and i have come to appreciate the oriental ladies, hopefully may have some luck in the not too distant future!
Will post up how this evening goes tommorow!
Love to all James Adam Ali and Sam xxx
