Ex-fountain
Probably the most famous image of the Old Summer Palace, this used to be a Western-style fountain at one end of a palace building. It depicted a hunting scene, with a bronze deer being sprayed by jets from the mouths of ten bonze dogs surrounding it. It was so beautiful there was a special throne built facing it for the emperor to sit on and appreciate it. Such a waste.
