This was taken at the top of the Mutianyu stretch of wall (the rest isn't maintained and it's technically illegal to walk on it, in the same way that many other things in China are technically illegal). It was at the top of an absurdly steep climb; those peaks dotted with bare stone were towering above us a few hundred (horizontal) metres before.
