We spent 4 days relaxing in Cadaques, a small port town in the northeast corner of Spain. It's a picturesque Mediterranean setting with white washed houses along the waterfront and surrounding hills covered with olive trees. Our hotel was excellent and the staff very friendly. Some highlights: renting bikes for the day and biking to Cape de Cruz, a park that encompasses the rocky peninsula that is the eastern-most point in Spain; fresh bread and cheese while drinking local wine on the beach; swimming (Molly got stung by a jellyfish, which added some excitement to things) eating fresh fish at a great little restaurant called La Sirena- it turns out the owner is a Sounders fan and lived in Seattle for 13 years! We talked a lot with him and he insisted that we have a few glasses of wine on the house.
It really felt like a vacation within a vacation. We're feeling rested and very ready to see Julius and Sonja in Germany!
