Guatamalan potato art
This diorama is about 18 across and just 3-4 inches deep, with doors that close. There are probably three dozen figures, in 3D, inside. These pieces are often themed. In addition to the day of the dead, this artist had a replica of a bakery, with oven, cooling loaves, sacks of flour, etc. Another one was the inside of a shoe store. In addition to the detail, what is amazing about them is they are made from a potato mixture and then hand painted. We have one and it has lasted for almost twenty years. No surprise, the theme of ours is masks.
