We arrived in Koh Phangan ready to do some volunteer work. The hotel was loicated within a 5 minute walk from the ferry pier in Tong Sala. The building looked like a run down hotel that noone has touched for years. We met the man who we were volunteering for (an american) who was really into eco tourism and making the world green. At firsat we thought this would be a great experience. He showed us to our room which looked average at first but after our first nights sleep we were not happy. The room was way too hot. We had a rusty old fan but that just isnt enough in such a hot place. Wer didnt get a fridge in the room as promised so drinks got warm too quick and no tv for when we wanted to relax. I checked out the swimming pool which was ok, but local kids mess about in it in the evenings. The hotel was dead. We ended up checking out the local area which was quite expensive and very quiet. In the evening we went to the market which was a special one they only had for a few days and went to a stage performance that the locals were at. The next day we knew this wasnt for us. We stayed 2 nights and decided to move on. We wanted to come back to Thailand anyway to check out the other islands we didnt do before. So we got the ferry and coach to Krabi.
