FridAy afternoon and B has returned without C and F from the "royal spa" . So 7 adventurous holiday makers take off for the last unchartered area on the island Bo Phut. Bo Phut fishermans village is a t shaped Area on the bay with boutique hotels. Bars restaurants and shops. We make our wAy to what is called the Walking street and make a base at The Smile Restaurant. Toilet is clean without the usual pong so we decide to stay. We choose a table on the sand and begin the eating drinking fest. Interspersed by swims in the ocean we watch the beach come alive as night falls. Flares are lite, trees decorated with fairyights come on, and pot plants are bought down on the sand to complete the parAdise feel. Further down the beach a big blow up tv screen is showing Wimbledon to the patrons. M and K opt for beer after Ca totay confuses the non English speaking waiter with instructions on making ice coffee. .. Picture hand actions and sound effects: first word was blender .... The other girls had cocktails in a variety of colours and the obligatory photos of drinks, and flowers were taken.
After dinner we make our way thru the market stalls now set up in Walking Street. Last minute shopping is done and when we all meet at 9.30 pm to taxi home, we find Miss M struggling with nausea. Once again the dreaded beer has claimed victory over Michelle's tummy and the night is over for her.
Determined not to cart gin and wine back to Australia, a drinkies session ensues. Hysterical laughter echoes in the halls till 1 pm when all agree the last 1/4 bottle of gin cannot be consumed.
