We took the Amtrak train from Boston to Stamford, Connecticut and had quite a scare when a horrible Amtrak lady told us, that Maria couldn't bring her backpack !? Fortunately we had a nice conductor on the train, who didn't even mention the bag !
At Stamford Niko's dad's cousin Ulla came and picked us up in her small Mercedes convertible - we did NOT think that there would be enough room for all of our bags ! Fortunately there was - we got it all stuffed into the car ! :-D We went and had our nails done (French manicures) and then we went home to Ulla and her husband Jim's amazing home ! It was so nice and big and finally we could feel a bit at home and not in the small confinements of a hotel room !! We also met their boys Christian and Peter - Niko and the boys could barely recognize each other, it had been 8 years since they'd seen each other last time ! :-D Rasmus is the name of the cute dog they have - he's just a big fuzzy ball of fur and joy ! He's sooo sweet ! And fluffy ! AND he's still a small puppy - it was so nice to 'have' a dog ! :-D
We got to do something all new in Stamford: we got to go to a real high school graduation ! Christian and his 70 other fellow students looked so good in their caps and gowns. The girls wore white and the boys wore crimson red - the school colors. It was so much fun to experience and we were so happy to be a part of Christian's big day ! It really is like you see it on TV !!!! :-D AND we got to browse Christian's year book - it was so cool ! In Stamford we also went to the Woodberry Commons shopping mall, went to church (where we thought they'd have gospel - they didn't though, but it was still a fun experience !), watching movies and the TV-show Pretty Little Liars on a very big, cinema-ish screen with surround sound (it was so cool !) and most importantly we got to relax a bit ;-D
On our last day in Stamford Ulla and Jim took us to the Met in NYC and we also went for a stroll in Central Park. The Met was an experience ! Especially the huge Egyptian temple they have here was just so extraordinary ! Unfortunately we only had about an hour and a half - which is not enough if you wish to see the whole museum (you might need a couple of days for that) - but we got to see the highlights ! :-D They were so sweet to drop us of at our NYC hotel just off Times Sq. and then it was goodbye and mange, tusind tak for denne gang !
Congrats to the Class of 2013 at Saint Luke's High School !!
From
Maria & Nikoline !
