Omis was once home to corsairs, who used to launch raids from this now sleepy little town. We visited the remnants of the pirates' fort up on the hillside above the town. It was a hot climb up to the fort and at times the pathway was treacherous - Croatia certainly has a different health and safety code from the one at home!
