Queenstown has definitely been my favourite place in New Zealand. We spent a whole 8 nights there, it was such a beautiful place with loads of things to do.
We stayed at lovely hostel; nomads which had an open fire in the common room with comfy sofas etc. it was as close as home you can get really!
We spent some of our nights out drinking together as a bus as it would be the last time we'd be together as a group. Lucy did a bungee jump the following day- she's mad!
We also spent time in queenstown garden which were looking over the lake and just down the road from our hostel. We played a game of 'frisbee golf' which entails aiming a frisbee into different baskets through the park. It was really good fun until I had to wade through the lake to retrieve my frisbee fully clothed! It was freezing and decided to head back to the hostel and into the sauna to warm up.
We spent other days walking through and up the hills as the views were amazing; the mountain tops were still covered with snow from the recent ski season. One day we hiked up to where the gondolas reached which was a really hard walk; I really noticed how unfit I was!
It was also Halloween while we were in queenstown; we dressed up with our backpackers budget and drunk way too much!
We also got to experience a famous 'Ferg Burger' which are only made in queenstown! I had a minted lamb burger which was delicious, however due to feeling delicate after Halloween I struggled to finish the whole thing!
Queenstown is somewhere I'd definitely like to return to.. So much fun!
