Thoroghly enjoyed your stay in Oz.You are great ambassadors for the Empire.Your blog on Australia was most interesting but I was somewhat disappointed in the amount of words you devoted to Melbourne as against that for Sydney.You may have been captured by your visit to Melbourne by its weather being similar to Aberdeen in Winterand fortunately you werent there in Summer when its slightly hotter than Hell!

Rod how can you so quickly forget the warm sunny days at Malabar where in between working on our various house projects we munched donuts with fresh cream,sausage rolls ,vanilla slices,apple pies with cream all from the Vietnamese cake shop in Malabar.Sory mate if this gets you into strife with Vicki but she has to be aware of your vices.Also there was no mention of the "brevilles" ,or toasties as you know them.Where else in the world can you get personalised serve at your beck and call of toasties with ingredient such as sausage tomato sauce and cheese,egg and cheese,ham and tomato sauce and cheese,and so on.The combinations are endless

Also what about the Sydney Beaches!Just to mention a couple,Maroubra and my favourite Little Bay.The former is the home territory of the Bra boys and the pub where they drink is another place you visited.Little Bay was the areas best kept secret until an ex Premier Bob sold the land around it for development.I call him rick but the word has a silent "p"

Melbourne also boast about their restaurants which I understand have the best Italian restaurants in the world.Lets face it Rod this colony was not created to eat Spaghetti Bolognaise laced with Garlic washed down with red wine.Convicts had a more staple diet such as meat pies and beer.

The most exciting thing about Melbourne is the Highway out of the place back to Sydney!(An well worn but honest summary of most (Sydney peoples opinion )

I wish you well for the rest of your trip and suggest that if you decide to return to this unique Colony of the Empire you learn some of the Queen's English.I am hoping that Graham can attend some night schools so that I can also understand him.
