We have had an action packed few days here.
The first day here was fine so we headed up the Hill on the 120 yr old peak Tram, and took a scenic walk around the top, before heading across the ditch to Kowloon on the equally old Star ferry.
Here we spent the afternoon taking in the Space Museum and then walking through the Flower Market, fish market and making our way back through the night markets. We ate takeaways on Kowloon waterfront and watched the Symphony of Lights, a spectacular light show where the buildings light up in time to music - see the video posted!
The next morning was beautifully fine , so we headed off to Aberdeen by Bus to the Ocean Park Theme Park. Ocean Park was good fun, with rides like the”,Abyss”, a 50m freefall to keep us entertained and real live Giant Pandas it was very impressive I kept my eyes shut very tight during the rollercoaster and Abyss!
As with everything in HK, this theme park is perched on the edge of a hill, and the two parts of the Park are joined by a spectacular and extremely scary Gondola ride.
As with everywhere in Hong Kong the Park was very busy!!
Kowloon , one of the most densely populated areas in the world, is a seething mass of Asian Humanity, with a few westerners sprinkled in.
This is one of the biggest and fastest growing markets in the world, and all they seem interested in is the latest Cell Phones, Name Brand clothes and eating Mcdonalds.
The weather packed up for the last two days, so they were spent doing Museums and city sights.
Hong Kong is a great place if you are into High End shopping, and the transport system is extremely efficient with taxis, double decker buses, the underground and the Star ferries and the trams, which are both older than me very easily lol.
Hong Kong is also very clean, especially compared with Bangkok, and the traffic much more orderly.
But we found the people very serious, and unfriendly. especially after the smiley people in Thailand.
The massive amount of high rise buildings makes the city very claustrophobic and the rules and regulations very strict!! We got told off for sleeping on the grass in the gardens.
