Set off early this morning to see the lighthouse at Cape Reinga (the most northern point of New Zealand and the place where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet). We did look for where the two seas met but could not find it, the rain was lashing down and the wind howling so we decided 5 minutes trying was enough! We then headed back down south stopping off at Te Paki sand dunes where we had hoped to go tobogganing this however was a non starter due to the rain. Next stop ninety mile beach which we ran over to from the van had a quick look and then ran back to the van (I swear it rains in NZ more than it rains in Wales if that is possible!) Our final stop today was to see the giant Kauri tree and fortunately the rain had eased off for us to have a look. We are now parked up and I am going to attempt to get Nick to put his things away although I do not hold out much hope as I tried this yesterday with "ooh look there is a wardrobe here for clothes would you like me to put yours in it?" The look he gave me could be translated too "are you crazy why would I want to do that?" I can put my stuff on the floor of the campervan (12" x 10" space) or in the kitchen (a spacious 12" x12") then when we are driving and I make an emergency stop (which is far too frequent for my liking) my things can fly all around the van. This will then make it impossible to stand anywhere or move around in the van! Simples!!
