Ok, well where to start?! Well firstly I promise that in about a week I will wack all my photos up, so keep checking the emails!
So, Sydney! WE left for our flight about 5am, which wasn't the most pleasent of things, but hey, who cares, were gonig to Sydney yay! WE were both very excited as yuo can imagine, it is one of the most famous cities in the world after all!
Having got to the airport I realised that I had forgotton my credit card. Oh dear. So many panicked pone calls ensued but I got through to our old room mate and he said he'd bring it down when he came to see us, phew! AS we flew in to Sydney, we had a great view of the harbour bridge and the opera house, and both looked pretty amazing! We were both amazed to think we were seeing some of the most iconic buildings/structures in the world!
We got to our hostel and on first impressions wern't exactly impressed! The room had mold all round it, rooms were very cramped and the bed linen looked like something your average GRan would be extremely proud of! WE grew to love the hostel however and at $22 a night, we loved it even more :D
Caught the monorail to get a vague idea of Sydney and were amazed at how HUGE it was compared to everywhere else. Looked very bustlnig and exciting though :D Spent the reminder of the day looknig around Darling Harbour, which is very pretty, and finding somewhere to get my broken camera fixed!
THURSDAY: Decided that we had to do the obvious today! Headed off on our hour long walk to the Opera house, and it is indeed very beautiful! The bridge was a little disappointing, but I suppose when it was built it was quite an achievement, so we admired it for that. Headed off for some lunch and then visited the aquarium. Again we were disappointed, until we looked at a map of it and relised we'd missed half of it. Oh well, had we have seen it all I think it would have been quite spectacular!
FRIDAY: Went to the Sydney tower today. The views were amazing and you could see right across Sydney. Saw the olympic park, which is a srtriknig building in it's own right, and we could also see all the way down to Bondi (note BonDi not BonZi Adam :P). Was totally amazed at how expansive and spread out Sydney is. It had a little ride you could go on which gave you a brief idea about Sydney;s history and that was pretty cool - it moved and everything! Went to the camera man to be told he would charge $200 to fix my camera. Needs must I guess! Todds arm is doing well, and not painful yay! But I might add he has an annoying habit of not wearing his sling already, feel free to lecture him for it :D
SATURDAY: Headed off to Manly today! Got some awesome views of the Opera house again, which were well worth the ferry price alone! Manly was nice, although as it was the weekend was very busy. Think we were a little disappointed however when we ateempted to go in the water and found was as cold as the Atlantic. Not happy! queensland was waaaaaaaaaay warmer. The area was nice however and it was good to get out of the main city as it is very busy. And no sunburn today Hurah! Rushed back early so we could watch the weekly way in on Biggest Loser. Such a good programme... :D
Another update coming soon! xxxx
