Only two months to go and back to the land of warmth :)
My Dad and two sisters were here for two weeks and Glenn was here for 1 week. They were greeted with Danish flags ( which I think was a little embarrassing for them haha) and taken straight to have a hotdog.
We were in København for 3 days, where we did a lot of shopping. Dad wasnt quite so happy with that :P We did a tour cruise around the canals of the city seeing all the touristy things. We did have a Nyhavn 17 beer at the Nyhavn 17 pub. Which is a quaint little bar on a canal in Nyhavb, København.
Then we came to Skagen where we saw two different seas meeting (better then it sounds :P ) and the buried church. All very interesting things. We went to the Brondums Hotel for dinner, which is a pure old danish style restaurant and hotel. Where most of the menu was written in Old danish - we had some fun translating that. The girls ended up with mushrooms and dad ended up with a whole fish, Glens meat dish didnt come with so much meat!
Then we came to my home town Skanderborg. Where we had some relaxing time, went to LegoLand (literally nearly everything is made of lego) which was really fun!
Dad took my sisters and I took to Berlin, on the way we said goodbye to Glenn who took home. It was a 600km drive down to Berlin. Where we got to see the Berlin Wall and hear some interesting information about the war and Berlins troubles. And of course we went shopping :D
The drive back to Danmark came with some hitches, Dad was pulled over by the border man reminding him that it was km not miles and some other little things ! We finally made it back to Skanderborg for my Birthday (yep am 19 now)
After a great two weeks it was time for them to go home.
Now I have a very busy last two months left. I plan to be able to make these christmas stars that my family is teaching me at the moment (I am failing miserably)
And my sisters want me to be able to cook as good as my host mother before I get back. Not sure that is going to happen, but I do want to learn how to make Rugbrød (rye bread)!
Until next time, Vi ses x
