Arrived safely and on time at Entebbe airport after long overnight flight. Feeling tired but full of excitement and expectation. Relieved to collect all TEN, yes ten bags and ventured off to find our driver. We were greeted by the tallest Ugandan displaying Stacys name-how special did we feel! What a journey from the airport, our first taste of Africa. We all spent the journey with a mouths open, taking in the sights. So many people everywhere and we got our firs...

Up not so bright and early after a late night! Lovely breakfast at Banda on the terrace, then off for a long walk up to kibuli hospital- negotiating bodas, buses, cars and dogs! Although fashionably late due to a wrong turn we were warmly welcomed by all the midwives and doctors. We'd just missed two deliveries, but we were instantly able to see the big differences between midwifery here and in the uk!! Antenatal, postnatal and labour ward were separate, howeve...

Arrived at heathrow, all checked in and ready to go! A few hilarious hiccups on the way! -sam first to arrive, good news...our hire car has been UPGRADED to a skoda! -5 mins into journey to heathrow, sam has an epiphany... She has forgotten her yellow fever certificate (essential to enter Uganda!) so quick dash back to her house to break in (no keys!) only to not find it...soooooo....quick dash to docs for another one, and we're off again!!!! -arrived at car h...
