Seeking a pit stop (with refreshments), we exited the motorway near a place called Hank and went looking for a suitable pitch for the camping stove. Driving down the country lanes, we chanced upon this monument. It turned out to be near the spot where a WW2 RAF Halifax Bomber had come down on 25 May 1944, sadly with the loss of the lives of all the crew, who were two Canadians and five British.
