Jerry-Built
Or was it Gerry-Built? That was a phrase my parents used in a way to be disparaging about any building which overtly demonstrated poor building standards. On the Northern tip of Skagan, which, incidentally is the most Northerly point of Denmark, there remains some evidence of the German occupation of Denmark from the Second World War. In fact, like most German built places like this, which one can see all over Europe, they seem to stand the test of time as rock-solid edifices, thus defying that "Jerry-Built" insult.
