We are currently in Levoca in East Slovakia. Its snowing and has been for almost 24 hours now, we may even get some skiing in except that we havent got any of the gear, we would even have to hire trousers so we ll see how that goes.
Just in case you think my grammar leaves a lot to be desired, especially for a teacher, I have to tell you now that there are many keys different to ours on this Slovakian keyboard and that there seems to be no apostrophe key at all. The y and z are also the other way around so i maz make some mistakes there too.
We are staying in a campsite, the only ones there of course, which is up a hill and we re not to sure how we are going to get back up that hill this evening on our return. Its pretty chilly and although the area here is famous for mountain walks and climbing, we are just a little wary of heading up into the hills so ill-prepared. Daniel doesn t even have hiking boots so we will probably stick to easier activities. We did manage a walk up to Spis Castle, the biggest castle in Central Europe, well, the biggest ruined one anyway. Again, we were the only people there.
We have long evenings here, its dark from 4.15 ish just like home, luckily we have the heater on full blast and Nads heats up pretty well. Fingers crossed it doesnt get much colder than this, although with Poland on the cards next we may well have to don a few more layers.
